Hey there. Tim here.
I'm reading The Bourne Identity. It's been a while since I picked up a good page turner.

2. Elon vs Zuck: Should You Start Marketing On Threads?
The podcast is heating up.
Ethan and I had so much fun debating this topic.
My view is that Twitter is in a downward spiral. The reach is worse than ever, the vibe and the community have disintegrated, and it's simply not that fun anymore.
As such, I am investing time into Threads and I expect Threads to surpass Twitter.
Ethan feels differently. In his view, Twitter is just getting started and Threads is nothing more than a lateral move.
This was so fun. I hope you enjoy listening to it.

4. Psychological Biases That Every Marketer Should Know
People think they know better, and they think "that stuff doesn't work on me." But it does, because we are all human and our brains are hardwired in certain ways that make influence borderline predictable.
If you can master these psychological tactics, your conversion rates will go through the roof.

5. The SEO Masterclass Series Has Been Published (Academy Members Only)
This was the most requested and viewed masterclass series I've recorded in The Academy thus far.
I hear every day that "blogging is dead." I've been hearing this for 10 years. Meanwhile, a dozen social media channels have come and gone and my websites are hitting new records for daily email signups.
Long form writing is still the best marketing strategy, and if you have a basic understanding of SEO, you're unstoppable.

Final Thought
This week I read a blog post from Seth Godin that hit me hard. The best thing for me to do is to publish the post below.
My Big Fat Greek Wedding
"Among the top 500 grossing Hollywood movies of all time, this movie is the most profitable in return on investment.
And among all Hollywood movies in the top 1,500 at the box office, Paranormal Activity is far and away the highest return, outperforming almost any investment the stock market has ever offered. The return on investment was over a million percent.
The lesson is simple, but ignored by most investors and entrepreneurs: The goal might not be to be the biggest. The goal might be to achieve your goals." (source)
This Really Got Me Thinking
There is a difference between growing and achieving your goals. Sometimes, it's easy to confuse the two.
But rarely is your goal to get bigger. Even if your singular goal is to grow, you would first need to identify the means of your growth.
For us writers, the goal is always to serve our audience. Success is simply a biproduct of doing so.
Paranormal Activity didn't set out to be one of the most profitable movies ever. They set out to tell a story in a way that had never been told before. They set out to serve the audience and to leave them feeling awed and inspired by this new form of horror that was fresh and innovative.
In doing so, they became rich and cemented themselves in horror film history.
What Is Your Goal?
This is another way of asking "how do you want to serve your audience?"
I can't answer that question for you, but I can give you some pointers.
First, you need to identify who your audience is. Who are the people you wish to serve? How do you plan to improve their lives? What can you give them that they don't currently have?
Next, you need to identify HOW you plan to do that. Are you writing a blog? Making videos? Running local events in your neighborhood? You can't do everything, so the how really matters.
Finally, you need to be consistent. It's highly unlikely that the directors of Paranormal Activity woke up one day with no film, editing, writing, or directing experience and decided to make a horror movie.
Most likely, there were years and years of repetitions that occurred before this vision ever became manifest.
This Is Your Shot
But you have to start, you must be willing to fail, and you must accept the inevitable truth that your achievements will not be linear.
The failures are more common than the successes. Most of what you do will flop and most of what you create will fall short of your vision.
But you will continue to serve your audience and move closer to achieving your goals.
That's how it works.
I can't promise you that you will create an ROI of a million percent, but I can promise you it will be worth it.
Love you guys.
Talk to you next week.
